Drunken Unicorn is sensory education for American whiskey. As educators, our craft is guided discovery: in tastings, classes, and brand events we explore the senses — sight, nose, palate, finish, and the fifth one we insist on: share. A great pour is meant for good company — friends old and new, in the moment, enjoying it together. You leave able to say what you love in a bourbon, a rye, a single malt — and, more importantly, why.

That “why” is the whole game. Once you understand your own palate, every shelf, bar list, and distillery lineup opens up — you’ll recognize the pours built for you and go find them with confidence. The bottle is just the vessel. What you’re really chasing is the moment.

We bring it to private tastings and group classes, to bars and retailers who want customers buying with confidence, and to distilleries who want their whiskey understood as deeply as it’s made.

And the credentials run deep: nearly fifty combined years in uniform. Twelve years on the faculty at West Point and the Command and General Staff College. Thirteen more educating adults in classrooms of every kind, in and out of uniform. An MBA. A historian of America’s tavern culture with formal training in wine country. And both of us Certified Executive Bourbon Stewards. Education was our profession long before bourbon became our subject.
